She was a 1947 graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore and went on to graduate from Goucher College in 1951. Nancy Kemp (nee Carnes) On January 21, 2021, age 90 of Newtown Square, and formerly of Baltimore, MD. Born on Feb 20, 1930, to the late Francis S, and Maugarette (nee Goudelock) Carnes. She was a 1947 graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore and went on to graduate from Goucher College in 1951. She attended classes at Towson University with studies in Reading Specialist Difficulties for students. She taught at Baltimore College, Baltimore School District, Lutherville Elementary School, Boys Latin School of Maryland, the McDonough School, and The Friends School of Maryland. She has been a member of the Newtown Square Presbyterian Church for the past 20 years, where she was active with the Miriam Circle, and many church activities. Nancy also belonged to the Women’s Club of Newtown Square and helped organize the Annual Fashion Show. She was the devoted mother of Maugarette (Peg) L. Gerns (The Reverend Canon Andrew), Frances (Jeff) J., and Nicholas (Nick) B.M., (Dawn). She is survived by her grandchildren, Robert A. Gerns, Jamie A. Allbritton (John), William (Sam) Bowen, Audra C., Nicholas, and Haley; her brother Francis S. Carnes, Jr., (Patricia), and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later time and will be announced. Internment will be private for the family.
