CHARLES F. , WENT TO JOIN HIS BELOVED PETS, MEESE AND CHIPPER ON DECEMBER 13, 2020. Chuck was 88 years of age and was survived by his wife, Ann Marie (Gehman), his brother Walter G. Swindell, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Esther Englebreath and Marion Cooney.
Chuck was a veteran having served honorably in the US Navy. He was also a graduate of Villanova University. Chuck was retired from Verizon for over 30 years which gave him time to indulge his hobbies. He loved to read. He was gifted with working with his hands. He was good at repairing things. He could take something apart ,find out what was wrong, fix the problem and put it back together. He worked at restoring his antique cars. He loved sports cars, race cars and racing. The only thing he did not like was riding a motorcycle and that hobby was short-lived. He loved the NJ shore especially Cape May and taking his boat out fishing. He liked to travel.
Although according to Chuck, the best thing He ever did was learn to fly, which He did shortly before He retired. This was something He dreamed of doing from the time He was a child. He was a certified instrument-rated private pilot. His pride and joy was his airplane and He spent much time flying. There was not a week that went by that He did not two or more days flying. His biggest thrill was the three weeks he spent flying solo in Alaska. He was happiest when He was in the air.
Chuck is great missed. He was much loved.
